Citadel Care Centre:  25 Erin Ridge Road, St. Albert, Alberta   |  Background  |  Highlights  |  Services and Activities  |  Contact Us  |   Citadel Care Centre Background Citadel Care Centre is located in the beautiful City of St. Albert at the top of the rise of the St. Albert Trail North, at the confluence of St. Albert Trail and Erin Ridge Road.  The Sturgeon Hospital is adjacent to the southeast.  Opened in November of 2005, this modern, state of the art continuing care centre represents the newest and most contemporary continuing care centre in the Capital Region.  This 105,000 square foot high quality facility was designed to provide a safe and homelike living environment with numerous amenities addressing the needs of its continuing care clientele.  The desire for privacy was paramount in the development of the facility.  Citadel provides 116 fully private continuing care rooms as well as accommodates 12 additional residents through the availability of 6 semi-private rooms. The facility offers 7 distinct separate living areas including private kitchen and lounge areas in each.  The facility also offers a large arts and crafts area, several recreation rooms, physiotherapy room, theraputic bathing areas, an entertainment room, a variety of outdoor patios, and numerous other high-quality amenities. Citadel provides continuing care services within Alberta health Services under regulatory and contractual standards ensuring optimum quality care.  Specific facility services include 24 hour professional nursing and personal care, occupational thearpy, dietician and recreational therapy as well as a host of on-site or related support services. The Citadel Care Centre staff are committed to providing quality care services within the Capital Region within a comfortable, familiar, high-quality environment and accommodates individual resident needs as well as the complex service requirements of continuing care residents ensuring that these are addressed in a respectful and professional fashion. The facility employs approximately 140 staff members on a full and part time basis in a wide range of disciplines.  These include professional nursing, support nursing including LPNs, dietary, housekeeping, dietican, physical, occupational and recreational therapists, and maintains a full service laundry and maintenance staff.  Recognizing the value and importance of staff members, Citadel provides a flexible work environment addressing staffing needs while ensuring reliable and safe service to the residents of the facility.  The facility provides a separate staff dining area and exercise facility for its staff members.
