December 5, 2020

Recently an employee at Rivercrest Lodge Nursing Home tested positive for Covid-19. While we wait for further direction from Public Health, we proceeded to test all staff and residents. So far we have reported 5 residents who have tested positive and 3 staff members. All family members who have loved ones who tested positive have been contacted. We are awaiting 1 more resident swab result and several staff results. Out of an abundance of caution we have implemented the following:

- Residents were asked to stay in their rooms and are being provided care and services in their spaces.
- Activities have been cancelled.
- Employees are wearing gowns when entering each residents room as well as continuous masking and face shields.
- Enhanced screening of residents is occurring twice a day.
- We are working closely with Alberta Health Services and Public Health to help contain the spread.
- We will not be allowing visitors at the time.
- We will send out regular updates.

These are very challenging times. Currently there are 6 acute care hospitals in the Edmonton zone on outbreak plus 30 long term care facilities and 30 supportive living facilities. We are confident that we will work our way though this. Thank you for your past and ongoing support.
